LEGISLATIVE ISSUES

BOMA in 1907
Since its inception, BOMA has been politically active,
representing the interests of the industry.

BOMA in 1929
In 1929, BOMA served on the National Conference on Business called by President Hoover to assess business conditions.

BOMA in 1933
In 1933, BOMA won a wage and price provision in the National Recovery Act to protect building owners from disastrous cost increases.

BOMA during WWII
During World War II, BOMA served on the National Coal Board to allocate fuel supplies.

BOMA in 1999
In June 1999, the BOMA Board of Governors established a fully operational political action committee known as “BOMAPAC”, whose sole purpose is to enhance our industry’s voice on Capitol Hill.

BOMA Today
Today, BOMA International continues to represent its members before the United States Congress, federal agencies, code development bodies, and standards organizations. Commercial real estate’s interests are defended by the Government and Industry Affairs Division on issues ranging from property rights to indoor air quality, and from leasehold depreciation to terrorism insurance.
