Membership Categories (Levels) and Dues

Building members 

Building Members represent a designated building or group of buildings. Each Primary Building Member in good standing shall be entitled to one vote at any meeting of BOMA Hawaiʻi on behalf of the “member building” represented. One or more Additional Building Members may be named but must be represented by a Primary Building Member. Additional Building Members shall have no vote except that in the absence of the Principal Building Member.

Broker/Leasing Agent


Building/Facility Engineer

Senior, Chief, Lead or other titles that are not contracted employees.


Non-Profit Agency/Utility

Additional Building Member

Must be with the same building as the Primary Building Member.

Emerging Professional - Building

Less than 7 years in the industry. Membership is limited to 3 years. After 3 years, the member must renew in the appropriate membership category.

ALLIED (non-building) members 

Allied Members represent businesses or professional companies who provide supporting services to buildings and their management. Allied Members companies are represented in BOMA Hawaiʻi as Primary Allied Members. In addition, one or more Additional Allied Members from the same business or company may be named but must be represented by a Primary Allied Member.

Additional Allied Member
Membership in this category does not include BOMA International membership.

Must be with the same company as the Primary Allied Member.

Emerging Professional - Allied

Less than seven years in the industry. Membership is limited to 3 years. After 3 years, the member must renew in the appropriate membership category.

Membership Dues are non-refundable.

As a result of changes adopted as part of the Tax Reform Act of 1993, 4.28% of your dues payment to BOMA Hawaii is not deductible by members as an ordinary and necessary business expense. A percentage of your Fees paid to BOMA Hawaii is deductible for federal income tax purposes as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Contributions or gifts to BOMA Hawaii are not deductible as charitable contributions. Please consult with your tax advisor.
